It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the end of 2020. I’m starting to feel more hopeful that with a vaccine in the pipeline travel will begin to normalise. The really good news is that most of Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands are open for international travellers and there are so many fabulous offers up from grabs.

FLYING ON A PLANE IS (relatively) SAFE
A big concern about travelling is the fact that most of the time you need to fly. According to a new Harvard research study, flying is just as safe as going to the grocery store, if not safer.
When you are aboard airplanes, researchers found that the “ventilation of air on aircraft reduces the possibility of exposure to COVID-19, lower than other common settings, such as grocery store or indoor restaurants.” Because of the frequent exchange of air and HEPA filters on planes, over 99% of the particles containing the virus are removed from cabin air and combined with mask-wearing and frequent sanitation of surfaces, it significantly reduces the risk of viral transmission on a plane.
Of course, this is a very personal decision to decide that flying during this pandemic is safe for you but it is good to have the information to make an informed choice.
